We spent the end of 2021 with family in Tampa. That was really special to us as we had not been with family for Christmas in over 7 years. We're so thankful for that time.
2022 started with us driving back home to Texas in early January. We knew then there would be many road trips this year. As always, our year had many travels but this year we never flew; I can't even remember the last full year we did not get on even 1 plane.
We made some fun road trips back to see family in Minnesota and Florida, and although we go often, this year I had some firsts. In MN, I finally made it to Duluth, it was for a beautiful wedding for Erin (Justin's cousin) and Spencer as well as getting some time on 1 of the 10,000s lakes. In FL, I was able to see my mom's place in Miami for the first time. While in FL, we spent time in Tampa with family and friends and got to be a part of Vivi and Carlo's lovely wedding.
We have been all over the place here in Dallas, finding our favorite brunch places, BBQ stops, food trucks, breweries, concert venues, and even our new favorite winery. We are enjoying living near a big lake and getting out there on our kayak. With the Junior League of Collin County, we were in a 4th of July parade, that was fun! We also ate all the deep fried foods the TX state fair has to offer, yum! Still much to learn about TX living and the weather here but we're meeting new friends and finding our way.
The pups are living their best life here in TX. Bolt turned 5 years old and still acts like he's just a pup. Star turned 4 and still follows Bolt everywhere. They are the best cuddlers!
And that closes out our review of our "road trip year" of 2022. May 2023 bring us all a year of great new moments and time with loved ones. Always missing and thinking of our family and friends and wishing 2023 will bring you love, peace, and happiness.
Happy Holidays!!
Lots of love,
Xoxo ~ The Wallens
